30 years back, we set off our humble beginnings to serve the cause of quality fine art education. With hard work and perseverance at heart, we could impart not just fine art education but knowledge to generations just as transforming barren land to a vibrant ecosystem. Today, Lalit Kalakshetra,Raviraj College of Fine Arts (RCFA) has flourished into a fertile environment, serving enriching values to its students as well as faculty. RCFA offers the following UG Degrees and PG Degrees in Art & Culture in affiliation with The
Tamil Nadu Dr. J . Jayalalithaa Music and Fine Arts University (TNJJMFAU).
It has a strong focus on individualized attention for each student. Students are also given a high level of creative freedom and independence in their studies—artistic promise is the number one criterion for admission. Students present their work to the public in exhibitions, concerts,dramatic productions, short film productions, readings, and lectures.
There are Four Departments in the college. The Department of Visual Arts, Performing Arts, Design Department, and Media studies has an independent Art,
Music and Dance Library with wide ranging titles in its collection. It is one of the best in the city of Coimbatore exclusively for Visual Arts and Performing Arts. The Library is exclusively for reference only and is managed by a library assistant. The Institute has well-furnished class rooms and conference hall for conducting regular classes and extension activities and it has well equipped Labs, Studios and Workshops to sharpen the brilliant minds.
The Academic Tours to various art & cultural festivals, historic places, events etc., are an inherent part of the curriculum.
Raviraj College of Fine Arts also having an ‘Artrendz Art Gallery’ for displaying not only the work of its own students but also holding curated art shows.

Painting - Regular – Bachelor of Fine Arts – 4 years/8 Semesters.
Eligibility: +2 Higher secondary pass or an equivalent. - and Clearing entrance examination (Life study in Graphite or Charcoal (Practical); Still Life from model-Water colour (Practical); Objective type exam (Written) Fundamentals of art & current Art Affairs); and a Personal Interview. Career Counselling services are with utmost care and have a high job placement rate after graduation.

Eligibility: +2 Higher secondary pass or an equivalent.
Post Graduate
(M.F.A)
Painting - Regular – Bachelor of Fine Arts – 2 years/4 Semesters.
Eligibility: BFA pass in appropriate subject - Clearing entrance examination (Life study in Oil (Practical);Composition in Oil or Acrylic (Practical); Objective type exam (Written) Indian and world art & current Art Affairs); Candidates should produce their original work of art during panel interview.

FACILITIES
LIBRARY
The staff and students visit the library as often as possible for reference and for research. The college library is well equipped and provides an array of more than 5000 rare books, having world class educational resources in Fine Arts & Design, Music & Dance through its Indian and foreign publications, Magazines and Journals. (Each student will be provided with two borrower’s tickets, upon which he / she can borrow the library books. Students should wrap the books borrowed by them to avoid mutilation and damage. Books will be issued to students under a loan for a period of one week. Books must be returned on or before the due date prescribed.)
HOSTEL
At present the College does not have hostel facilities (But, there are more affordable hostels nearby…)
EDUCATIONAL TOURS
The educational tours to places of Historical, Cultural Heritage and Artistic Importance in India is organised every year which is a part of the curriculum. It is compulsory for the 2nd year to final year students and conducted during the academic session in December / March. Each student will deposit Rs.7,500/- for the expenses of the Educational Tour. (The additional charges levied according to the actual expenses incurred on the Tour)
VISITING FACULTY
The college invites experts and professionals to tech, interact and give special lectures and demonstrations during the academic session.
MEDICAL FACILITIES
General First Aid facility is available in the College. Medical Insurance is FREE to all the Students!

The facility of an art material shop is available in the college.
ART GALLERY
“Artrendz Art Gallery” is a vibrant multi-disciplinary exhibition space where students in Design and Visual Arts programs and established artists showcase their work. Expertly curated by Mr. Vigneshraj, stunningly produced, affordable art editions. The RCFA College organises the Annual Art Exhibition of students work done during the academic year (mostly May month) Merit Prizes and Certificates are given to the selected students for outstanding performance.

Choice Based Credit System (CBCS)
The CBCS provides choice for students to select from the prescribed courses (core, elective or minor or soft skill courses).
A course may be designed to comprise lectures/ tutorials/laboratory work/ field work/ outreach activities/ project work/ vocational training viva/ seminars/ term papers/assignments/ presentations/ selfstudy etc. or a combination of some of these.

Letter Grade: It is an index of the performance of students in a said course. Grades are denoted by letters O, A+, A, B+, B, C, P and F.
Grade Point: It is a numerical weight allotted to each letter grade on a 10-point scale.
Credit Point: It is the product of grade point and number of credits for a course.
Credit: A unit by which the course work is measured.It determines the number of hours instructions required per week. One credit is equivalent to one hour of teaching (lecture or tutorial) or two hours of practical work/field work per week.
Programme: An educational programme leading to award of a Degree, Diploma or Certificate.
Semester: Each semester will consist of 15-18 weeks of academic work equivalent to 90 actual teaching days. The odd semester may be scheduled from July to December and even semester from January to June.
Transcript or Grade Card or Certificate: Based on the grades earned, a grade certificate shall be issued to all the registered students after every semester. The grade certificate will display the course details (code, title, number of credits, grade secured).
